A HISTORY LESSON
(by Eric Gauthier)

A brisk October morning in 2001, The Golf Courses Of Lawsonia played host to an event that would change the lives of everyone involved.  Who would have thought that through the 2 hour frost delay, the 77 posted would be one of the best team scores ever recorded on The Players Tour. (no longer the record)

The TOURs co-founder put together a group of golfers to have a friendly competition in the Fall.  This group of players submitted an estimated handicap and then 4 man teams were made based on these handicaps.  The first 12 players were:

Player (Estimated Handicap)

Eric Gauthier (5)
Eric Lepp (6)
Chuck Zasada (8)
Jason Hundt (9)
Josh Herman (9)
Scott Quimby (9)
David Wescott (10)
Rob Ruby (10)
Chris Koertge (11)
Casey Kessenich (14)
Matt Bolssen (14)
Brett Eifler (19)
Mickey Wiskow (22)

The tournament was dubbed the CTSC (Clinging To Summer Classic).  There was such an overwhelming response from the participants, everyone had such a good time with the fierce competition, in the off season it was discussed to start another tournament in the spring.  A kick off the season tournament, if you will.  The SIC (Spring Itch Classic) was born.

Timberstone Golf Course played host to the 2002 SIC and The Players Tour was born.  Through the past years, we have experienced the worst of weather.  Frost, rain, bitter cold, more rain, but nothing can stop The Players TOUR members.  We have insulted cab drivers, been robbed, kicked out of pools, offended anyone and everyone inside of Taverns, all in the name of the TOUR.

On one occasion, we proved that the amount of mass held inside a Toyota Camry is equal to the amount of mass held inside a minivan.  This is a feat that still dumbfounds most of us, but what doesnt these days.

Cheers to all the members of The Players TOUR, Past, Present, and Future.
